Aya Sara Elwassif is a junior Biochemistry Major. She is interested in multiple fields of research; her main focus is chemical genetics and its applications. By understanding the basic building blocks of an organism, one can further understand how these biological mechanisms work together and how to fix them when they aren’t working properly. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, she hopes to earn a PhD in biochemistry or biophysics. Outside of her schoolwork, she enjoys knitting, cooking, writing fiction, and going to museums.
