Randy Garcia was born in the Dominican Republic and immigrated to the United States when he was four years old. Randy is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and History and is a part of The City College of New York’s History BA/MA program. His research interests center around the history of Japanese-Latin American migration, the lived experiences of these migrants in both regions, their construction of identity and culture, and how these immigrants negotiate and understand their position within the larger society. After completing the BA/MA program, Randy plans to begin his PhD in History and continue his research.
