CCNY President

Dear Faculty,

The following is a reminder of our policies and responsibilities to protect student information.

During this time of distance learning, we must remain diligent in our efforts to protect student data. It is important that we follow University policies and procedures when it comes to using technology to convey or post students’ non-public information. A few policies to highlight are the Acceptable Use of University Data in the Cloud and the Data Classification Standards. You can find all of the CUNY Security polices at this link. I would also like to encourage you to take the CUNY Security Awareness Training. The first part of this training covers protecting University Data and the remainder of the course talks about how to recognize threats and how to protect yourself from nefarious software and people. The training can be found here.

Sincerely,

Ken Ihrer
