Bettina Lerner

Profile

Bettina Lerner (B.A., Ph.D, Yale University) is Associate Professor of French and Director of the Program in Comparative Literature. Her work focuses on popular culture in 19th-century France. Her research interests include theory of translation and trans-Atlantic relations during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Her first book, The Invention of the Popular: Literature and Culture in Nineteenth-Century France is forthcoming with Ashgate.
