Maya Gutierrez

Maya joins the Colin Powell School to support career exploration, preparation, and connection for students interested in mission-driven careers. Previously, she was a member of the executive team at Coro New York Leadership Center, and oversaw the full cycle of the Leadership New York (LNY) program for mid-career, multi-sector professionals. The LNY program design won national recognition and replication from the George B. Kaiser Foundation and was successfully scaled to a double-cohort model under her leadership. Prior to Coro, Maya structured and delivered talent development training for 300+ staff members globally for the Ford Foundation and managed a national resource center for more than 150 national sites for the I Have A Dream Foundation.  Maya received a self-designed BA (cum laude) from Dominican University and was awarded the competitive National Urban Fellowship to receive a Master in Public Administration from CUNY Baruch College. Maya is a proud AmeriCorps alumna (A*NCCC and Campus Reads). When she is not working on transformational leadership, Maya enjoys renovating a fixer-upper cabin in the Poconos and dancing tango with her husband, Jose.
