Building Careers, Restoring Communities
The Rangel Initiative's Brownfields Job Training program empowers individuals with the skills to revitalize communities and build sustainable careers. Through hands-on training, industry certifications, and career support, participants gain the tools to succeed in environmental restoration and infrastructure—transforming lives while rebuilding our neighborhoods.
Supported by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), our free training program helps New Yorkers build the skills and certifications needed for great careers in environmental cleanup, construction, and sustainability.
We kicked off our first cohort in Spring 2025 and are now training our second group this fall—participants are earning credentials, gaining hands-on experience, and connecting with real job opportunities.
The program runs on weekdays for approximately 110 hours over 4–6 weeks, with all training provided at no cost to participants.
Recruitment for our next cohort will open in early 2026. Want to be the first to hear when applications open? Click below to add your name to our interest list!
