CUNY Center for Advanced Technology

The CUNY Center for Advanced Technology promotes industry-university collaborative research and development and spurs industrial economic impact through applied research, technology transfer in commercial arenas and encouragement of faculty entrepreneurship. The CUNY CAT is sponsored by the New York State Department of Economic Development, Division of Science, Technology, and Innovation (NYSTAR) and The City University of New York.

New York business seeking assistance with technical issues or with new technology can get help from CAT, which also supports the CUNY research community through a wide variety of programs and initiatives. These include building relationships between University faculty and industry scientists and engineers, providing matching funds to augment research funding provided by industry and creating an entrepreneurial environment through training and incentives.

Research areas include energy, defense, medical and biomedical, optics and photonic devises, advance materials and processing, communication and metamaterials.
