Congratulations to Dr. Erica Friedman, Deputy Dean for Medical Education at the CUNY School of Medicine and the 2021 recipient of the National Hispanic Health Foundation's (NHHF) Hispanic Health Leadership Award. The Hispanic Health Leadership Award is presented to outstanding individuals who have served in significant leadership roles and have helped improve the health of Hispanics and other underserved populations. Dr. Friedman is being honored for her outstanding leadership in ensuring the longevity of the Sophie Davis Biomedical Education Program mission and leading its' transformation into the current 7-year BS/MD CUNY School of Medicine program.
The goal of the NHHF, the foundation for the National Hispanic Medical Association, is to improve the health of Hispanics and the underserved, eliminate health disparities, support Hispanic researchers, and advance culturally competent quality healthcare and diversity in the workforce.
