Dear Students,
The Office of Student Affairs @ CWE is committed to ensuring the professional development and well-being of all CWE students during this pandemic.The physical office will remain closed until further notice. During the fall 2020 semester, the office will continue to operate remotely and is available to all students seeking information and assistance via email and phone.
Our services include career counseling: help with resumes and cover letters; assistance with job search and job interviews; information about graduate school and assistance with the application process; scholarship opportunities. We also offer a CWE Alumni Mentoring Program geared to help you navigate college and beyond.

Programming & Events
CWE Student Raffle : To celebrate the new semester, Student Affairs hosts a raffle at the beginning of the every semester. Students interested in the raffle must answer cwe trivia questions. Raffle prizes include CCNY & CWE memorabilia including tee shirts, key chains, lanyards, and other items.
Student Affairs CWE Alumni Mentoring Program: The mentoring program was created to provide new and returning students the opportunity to connect with CWE alumni from diverse professional backgrounds. Mentors help students to transition smoothly into college; clarify their goals and expectations; and develop personally and professionally.
Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society: It is the oldest and largest chapter-based honor society for full-time and part-time adult learners who demonstrate academic excellence. Our local chapter is Sigma Alpha Kappa.

Graduate School Fair: Hosted in the fall, it attracts leading graduate programs in the metropolitan area to campus.

Whether students are at the beginning of their studies or close to graduation, Student Affairs services include assistance with career skills development including: writing effective resumes and cover letters; developing successful job search strategies; mastering the job interview; and creating successful networking strategies

Scholarships
Student Affairs is also a resource for students seeking scholarship information and assistance. Scholarship workshops are also offered.
Walk-In Hour
The Office has a no-appointment required hour every Monday in the Student Lounge.
Workshops
A Fall & Spring Training Calendar of hour-long and mini express workshops is available each semester.
Individualized Counseling
Career counseling is provided in individualized, one-on-one private sessions. Appointments are required.
Benny’s Campus Store
The CWE Benny’s Campus Store, selling a limited selection of items and gifts, is located in room 7-73. Students can shop for outerwear, hats, drinkware, and decals/stickers.

ALUMNI MENTORING PROGRAM
Keeping students inspired and on track
The Student Affairs Alumni Mentoring Program was created to provide first semester new or returning students the opportunity to connect with CWE alumni professionals from diverse backgrounds and career fields.
The CWE Student Affairs Alumni Mentoring Program is a voluntary, selective program that helps students identify a mentor who will work with them to:
- transition smoothly into college
- clarify their goals and expectations and
- develop personally and professionally

THE APPLICATION PROCESS
Eligibility: Students interested in having a mentor, must complete an application form and resume. Admission is not automatic.
The Process: All applications will be reviewed by the program director. The program is designed so that the student selects their mentor based on profiles submitted by the alumni mentors. Students will be contacted by the program director and informed about their status. Students are required to make the first contact with their mentors. The mentoring relationship is for one semester but may be extended. The extension is determined by the mentor.
