Whether you left CUNY without completing your studies, never got the chance to go to college, or you're dreaming of a career change or promotion, CCNY is your launchpad to the future. Share your comeback story with us, and not only could you be considered for the CUNY Reconnect grant, but you’ll also inspire others to chase their dreams. If you’ve taken a break from your studies at City College, the CCNY Reconnect program is built specifically to help you return to campus and earn your degree. We provide the financial support needed to turn your "someday" into "graduation day."
How We Can Help
Financial barriers shouldn't keep you from your diploma. We offer three types of tuition-focused grants to bridge the gap:
- Forgiveness Grants: Clear away balances from a previous term so you can start fresh.
- Completion Grants: In your final semester? We can help cover that last outstanding balance.
- Retention Gap Grants: Support for students who have a funding gap in their current tuition coverage.
Are You Eligible?
You are likely a great candidate for the Reconnect grant if:
- You are a NYC Resident (paying in-state tuition).
- You are a transfer or readmit student in good academic standing (2.0 GPA or better).
- You are currently matriculated in a CCNY undergraduate or graduate program.
- You have an unpaid tuition balance you need help resolving.
Note: To be considered for this tuition assistance grant, students must be registered for both the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters, maintain good academic standing, and have an outstanding tuition balance not fully covered by financial aid awards. Please note that this is not a one-time award; grant funding is reviewed and awarded on an ongoing basis throughout the academic year, subject to eligibility requirements and the availability of funds.

Why Should You Reconnect with CCNY?
• The CCNY Reconnect program assists students who have been away for at least one semester in re-entering to finish their degree.
• Reconnect with us to complete your degree or earn credentials that boost economic mobility and support the city's post-pandemic recovery.
• Designed for former CUNY students who left without a degree, helping you get back on track.
• Financial assistance is available to help you re-enroll and complete your coursework.
Citeria & Eligibility:
• Must be a transfer/readmit student.
• Must be 24 years or older.
• Must be in good academic standing (GPA of 2.0 or better)
• For transfer and readmit students: a minimum of one semester gap in college attendance is required.
• Bachelor's degree holders are not eligible for this initiative.
