City College Fellow
Born and raised in New York City, Alexander Cernei is a Macaulay student interested in doing research in theoretical physics, particularly in the fields of quantum information theory and mathematical physics. He is currently studying SIC-POVMs and novel mathematical ways of approaching the conjecture of their existence in arbitrary dimensions under Professor Mark Hillery. Upon completing his bachelor’s degree, he intends to pursue a PhD in theoretical physics in hopes of going on to become a professor. Outside of research, he enjoys organizing educational events and providing mentorship to underclassmen, as well as cooking and studying philosophy in his free time.
