Born and raised in Punjab, India, Charanjot Singh moved to United States in January 2019 as an international student in the pursuit of higher education in the field of Physics. Charanjot has a deep interest in particle physics, and also in quantum computers. Charanjot is currently working under the guidance of Professsor Vinod Menon on exfoliation and transferring of thin layers of Transition Metal Dichalcogenides on different substrates and doing measurements on the samples, with methods like photoluminescence measurement and scanning electron microscopy. Charanjot plans to pursue a PhD in experimental High Energy Physics and to apply his research experience to improve quantum computers and also to find out more information about subatomic particles. Beside scientific research, Charanjot is also interested in music and likes to practice flamenco style on his guitar.
