City College was founded on the premise of providing the best education to all students based on their academic promise at no cost. Today, we are proud that our institution ranks among the top universities in diversity among masters-level universities, according to the U.S. News & World Report’s America’s Best Colleges ratings.
We have a national reputation of being a leading public institution of STEM fields—science, technology, engineering and mathematics. However, we also understand the importance of a well-rounded education. History has shown us the natural connection between art and science and the need to prepare students to develop both sets of skills in order to be great leaders in their fields. So far, our vibrant learning community and dedicated faculty have produced ten Nobel Prize winners. We also count among our alumni 27 winners of the Oscar, the Emmy, the GRAMMY, and the Pulitzer. City College alumni can also be found in the highest levels of government, including a supreme court justice and a U.S. Secretary of State.
In today’s climate of reduced government funding, it is increasingly difficult to maintain the highest quality education that City College is known for and that created these distinguished alumni. Philanthropy continues to be instrumental in the education of our future leading scientists, engineers, educators, and thinkers who will change our world. Your support has the catalyzing potential to foster our next Nobel Laureates. You can make an impact in a student’s life today and shape our future.
