DREAM US Scholarship FAQ

1. Who is eligible to apply for TheDream.US Scholarship?
Students who:

  • Are undocumented (with or without DACA or TPS)
  • Came to the U.S. before age 16
  • Meet the program’s GPA and academic progress requirements
  • Demonstrate significant unmet financial need
  • Attend (or plan to attend) a partner college – CCNY is a partner college

2. Do I need DACA to apply?
No. Students without DACA are eligible as long as they meet all other requirements.

3. What types of scholarships does TheDream.US offer at CCNY
The National Scholarship is offered at CCNY by TheDream.US

4. What does the scholarship cover?
Tuition, mandatory fees, and limited support for books.

Housing and meal plans are not covered.

5. Do I need to be enrolled full-time?
Yes. Scholars must maintain full-time enrollment each semester to remain eligible.

6. What GPA do I need to apply and keep the scholarship?
Applicants generally need a minimum 2.5 GPA, and scholars must maintain satisfactory academic progress as defined by the program.

7. Can transfer students apply?
Yes, as long as they meet eligibility criteria and attend a partner institution.

8. Is the scholarship renewable?
Yes. The scholarship is renewable each year if academic, enrollment, and participation requirements are met. Scholars have to submit the renewal application at the end of each academic year

9. What documents are required to apply?
Official or unofficial transcripts, proof of immigration status, recommendation letter(s), and written essays.

10. Who can help me with my application on campus?
TheDream.US campus liaison can provide guidance and support.
