At the Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership, the International Studies program will train you for professional careers in various international fields. It will increase your appreciation of the diverse cultures that make up our world and improve your understanding of the global phenomena that confront and shape your generation. The International Studies Program will provide you with analytical skills, proficiency in foreign languages, and work experience, which serve as stepping stones to an array of careers.
The International Studies Program is unique to the New York metropolitan area. The Program draws on City College's rich diversity among its student population as well as the academic, institutional, and cultural resources of New York City. The interdisciplinary scope of the program links the many professional schools and departments in the College, providing students with an opportunity to develop an internationalist perspective through courses in International Studies, Political Science, Sociology, and Economics.

The International Studies program advises students to part take in a Study Abroad, Service-Learning and/or Exchange Programs. These programs broadens the students global perspective as a whole.
