Remote Desktop Connection / Adobe Creative Cloud Access

The University-wide free student, faculty, and staff access to Adobe Creative Cloud ended on October 30, 2020. To accommodate currently enrolled CCNY students and faculty and staff,  some computer labs on campus have been configured for remote access to licensed software, including Adobe Creative Suite, SPSS, ArcGIS, SAS, Rhino, and R+.

All currently registered CCNY students can use their Citymail login credentials and personal devices to access licensed software installed in the CCNY Tech Center. Additionally, the Science Division, Spitzer School of Architecture, and Accessibility computer labs are available for students authorized to access them, with other departments to follow. (For details, see the remote access portal, instructions, and software availability matrix below.)

Faculty & Staff Remote Access/ Saving Adobe Acrobat to Dropbox
Faculty and staff who previously relied on Adobe Creative Cloud for coursework can continue to use the software using their CCNY Webmail username.

As a result of the limited number of Adobe licenses, faculty and staff who use Adobe Acrobat DC to create PDF files can use the remote access Faculty & Staff Computer Lab. For instructions on how to save PDF files created on a remote access computer to a cloud storage service, see the instructions linked here.

Adobe Creative Cloud for Students
All enrolled students can access Adobe Creative Cloud software from the CCNY remote access computer labs using the remote access portal link and instructions below. To access Adobe products, select any of the Tech Center sections on the list using your CCNY Citymail username and password.

Because they require intensive graphical computing resources, CCNY Students who are registered in courses that require Adobe Creative Cloud Audition and Premiere can continue to use the software through the Adobe login using their CUNY Login ( firstname.lastname##@login.cuny.edu ). This student Creative Cloud access will be revised on a per-semester basis.

Remote Access Compatibility  Limitations
This remote access service is compatible with Macintosh, Windows, and Chromebook laptops and desktop computers. However, due to the intensive processing and graphics requirements, applications such as Adobe Animate, Audition, and Premiere have limited compatibility with remote access technology. Also, there is limited functionality when connecting from iPad and Android devices. Performance depends upon network connection speed, graphics processing, and CPU utilization.
