On Campus Support

GENDER RESOURCES

Gender Resources is dedicated to fostering a safe and equitable campus environment for all City College students by addressing gender-based violence through education, awareness, accessible resources, and robust partnerships within the campus and the broader community to enhance support services for survivors of sexual assault, intimate partner violence, stalking, dating violence, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. The overarching goal is to create a supportive, informed, and equitable community where gender equity is championed, and all individuals are empowered to thrive free from violence.

COUSELING CENTER

In line with City College's vision of access to excellence, it is the mission of the Counseling Center to provide high quality counseling services that are accessible to all City College students.

We provide short-term, student-centered and culturally informed psychological services from a modern and integrative theoretical orientation, treating all students with respect and recognition of their unique strengths. We are a liaison to the community, linking students to more intensive and longer term services when needed. We are committed to supporting faculty in the identification of students who may benefit from our services and reaching students in need. We provide education to the City College community and work towards wellness and prevention in our outreach models.

PUBLIC SAFETY

The Department of Public Safety is committed to fostering a secure and welcoming environment for our diverse student body, faculty, staff, and visitors. Ensuring the safety and well-being of our campus community is our top priority. To that end, we regularly distribute newsletters and informational broadcasts to keep the community informed about upcoming safety workshops, training sessions, and department-hosted events. We encourage all members of the campus to participate, as we firmly believe that a well-informed community is a safer community.

Our mission is to protect life and property while creating a safe environment in which to study, work, and live. We carry out this mission without bias or discrimination, regardless of race, color, religion, creed, national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, or veteran status.
