The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline connects you to trained crisis counselors 24/7. They can help anyone thinking about suicide, struggling with substance use, experiencing a mental health crisis, or any other kind of emotional distress. You can also call, text or chat 988 if you are worried about someone you care about who may need crisis support
Safe Horizon operates the NYC Hotline, a 24/7, 365 day a year number for anyone who has experienced domestic or intimate partner violence, crime, abuse, or sexual assault. Anti Violence Project 24 Hour English/Spanish Hotline
The Anti Violence Project operates a free, confidential bilingual 24 hour, 365-day-a-year crisis intervention hotline that is staffed by volunteers and professional counselors/advocates to offer support to LGBTQ & HIV affected victims and survivors of any type of violence. Callers receive immediate crisis counseling and on-going short or long-term counseling, including other supportive services such as police, court, social services advocacy and accompaniment.

Crime Victims Treatment Center (CVTC)
CVTC provides free, confidential support for survivors of sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and other violent crimes. Their services include crisis intervention with trained advocates at partner emergency departments, individual and group trauma-focused therapy, legal advocacy to help navigate the justice system, psychiatric evaluation and consultation, complementary therapies (like art and meditation), and advocacy with hospitals, police, and public systems. All services are available at no cost and are designed to help people heal from the impact of violence.

Domestic and Other Violence Emergencies (DOVE)
DOVE is offered through the Department of Social Work at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. DOVE provides free, compassionate and comprehensive care to victims of violence crimes for ages 12 and above including, domestic violence, physical and sexual assault and elder abuse, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. DOVE collaborates and coordinates provision of case with other service providers in order to develop, expand and strengthen the array and delivery of comprehensive services to the adults and families affected by violence crime.

The NYC FJCs provide FREE criminal justice, civil legal, and social services all in one location for victims of domestic violence, elder abuse, and sex trafficking. Individuals can meet with a prosecutor, speak with a trained counselor, apply for housing and financial assistance in just one place. Children ages 3 and up can play in a children’s room while their parents receive services. Click here for locations. Each Center is open Monday through Friday, from 9am- 5pm, walk-in during these hours – you do not need to make an appointment.

Provides free, confidential support for survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and other interpersonal violence, including crisis intervention, counseling, emergency room advocacy, legal advocacy, and education and training.

Day One uses an empowerment model that invests young people in maintaining safe relationships for
themselves and their peers, and engages youth in designing projects to raise awareness in their communities. They provide young people with direct services, including counseling, legal support, and case management; educational and preventive services, including workshops and webinars; and leadership development activities. All direct services are free for NYC youth, 24 years of age and under, and available in English and Spanish.

Womankind is offers free, confidential, culturally-responsive services to people affected by gender-based violence, including domestic violence, human trafficking, and sexual violence. They provide a range of assistance such as trauma-informed counseling, advocacy, legal help, emergency housing (shelter), wellness and healing groups, and help navigating systems like police, housing, or public benefits — available in English, Spanish, and 18+ Asian languages/dialects.
Barrier Free Living supports people with disabilities and survivors of domestic violence by helping them live safe, independent, and dignity-filled lives free from abuse and bias. Its services include accessible emergency shelter, community-based counseling and support groups (Secret Garden), advocacy and safety planning, and permanent supportive housing tailored for people with physical, sensory, cognitive, or psychiatric disabilities.
