Sapir Ashurov is a third-year student at The City College of New York pursuing a bachelor's degree with a double major in Biotechnology and Jewish Studies. She is particularly interested in genetics, with a focus on epigenetics, gene therapy, and genetic engineering. Sapir is a member of the Emerson Lab, where she is developing her research skills and gaining experience studying the gene regulatory mechanisms underlying vertebrate retinal development. Her long-term goal is to pursue a PhD and inspire the next generation of scientists through research and teaching.
