CCNY rallies against deportations

MEDIA ADVISORY

CCNY rallies against deportations

WHAT: In a show of solidarity with students that might be at risk, City College of New York's Coalition to Resist Deportation is rallying on campus to resist federal moves to detain and deport undocumented aliens. The rally will be followed by a march to Amsterdam Avenue, where participants will surround the campus, symbolically protecting undocumented students from federal raids. City College has declared itself a "Sanctuary campus." The rally is the first event in a campaign to actively defy harsh federal efforts to deport undocumented residents. The Coalition to Resist Deportation is a coalition of CCNY faculty, students and staff. They plan to work closely with other campuses in New York and around the U.S.
