Spitzer Dean George Ranalli Earns top AIA Honor

The American Institute of Architects’ Jury of Fellows has elevated George Ranalli, dean of The City College of New York’s Bernard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture, to its College of Fellows. Dean Ranalli and other 2015 fellows will be honored at an investiture ceremony at the AIA Convention in Atlanta, Ga., May 15.

The Fellowship program was developed to recognize architects that have made a significant contribution to architecture and society on a national level, as well as achieved a standard of excellence in the profession. Less than 4 % of AIA’s more than 85,000 members have been accorded this distinction. 

A graduate of the Harvard Graduate School of Design, Dean Ranalli has led City College’s Spitzer School since 1999.

He also heads the firm George Ranalli Architect and has authored several books. His most recent publications are “Sagrada Família - Gaudí's Unfinished Masterpiece: Geometry, Construction and Site” (November 2014) and “In Situ: George Ranalli - Works & Projects Hardcover” ( September 2014), both from Oscar Riera Ojeda Publishers Limited.
