NBCUniversal Telemundo Chairman Cesar Conde joins Colin Powell School’s Board of Visitors

The Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership at The City College of New York is pleased to announce the appointment of Cesar Conde, Chairman of NBCUniversal International Group and NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, to its Board of Visitors. He joins 25 other distinguished Board Members.

“I have known Cesar Conde for over 15 years and he will be a wonderful addition to our board,” said General Colin L. Powell, a 1958 CCNY alumnus and Chair of the Colin Powell School Board of the Visitors. “Since serving as a White House Fellow at the State Department during my tenure there, I have watched and admired Cesar's rapid ascent into the upper echelons of leadership at NBCUniversal.”

The Colin Powell School’s Board of Visitors helps to support the School’s strategic direction and philanthropic initiatives.

Established in April 2013, the Colin Powell School is home to the social science departments at CCNY as well as the core leadership development and public service programs of the College. With 4,000 students, and graduating the most CCNY students annually, the Colin Powell School mission is to transform the nation’s most diverse student body into tomorrow’s global leaders. Half of our students are immigrants; most come from lower income backgrounds. More than seventy percent are first-generation college students, and eighty percent are people of color. About Cesar Conde
As Chairman of NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, he oversees the leading media properties that serve Hispanics globally.
In his role as Chairman of NBCUniversal International, Conde heads the operations and international expansion of NBCUniversal businesses outside North America.

Conde has been credited with building NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises into a world-class media company that produces and distributes high-quality Spanish-language content across a range of broadcast, cable, and digital properties. These include: the Telemundo flagship TV network, 30 local stations, Universo Cable Network, Telemundo Digital Enterprises, Telemundo Global Studios, Telemundo Deportes, Noticias Telemundo, Telemundo Films and other video content and distribution properties.

Prior to launching his media career with Univision, Conde served as a White House Fellow for U.S. Secretary of State Colin L. Powell from 2002–2003.  

He serves on the board of directors of PepsiCo and Walmart, and is a Trustee of the Aspen Institute and the Paley Center for Media.  In addition, Conde is a Full Member at the Council on Foreign Relations and he sits on the board of the Foundation for Excellence in Education and the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics.
