The City Technology Project
Gary Benenson is Project Director of City Technology, City Technology is a collaboration of the Schools of Education and Engineering at the City College of New York with ten elementary teachers who work in NYC public schools. We provide curriculum, professional development and classroom materials to support language-rich standards-based learning of science and engineering in the elementary grades. City Technology has been supported by four major National Science foundation grants, and has presented professional development workshops at national meetings of the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA), National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD). Seven curriculum units and 500 supporting videos from the most recent NSF award are available on the project website at www.citytechnology.org.
