Teaching Matters AI Session 2

AI in the Classroom

In 2021, the CUNY Innovative Teaching Academy kicked off a new virtual teaching workshop series called Teaching Matters. This series is a monthly, free, one-hour summit of CUNY faculty and staff devoted to sharing innovative teaching strategies and student-centered learning methods. Each gathering includes a focused, interactive, and engaged peer-to-peer workshop and a few practical teaching tips that can be used in any classroom.

Please visit the Teaching Matters website, for more information on this and future events!

The second session of the series will focus on how AI has been and can be used in educational settings. We will brainstorm and exchange ideas for how we can use AI tools in positive ways. Topics include:

• Using AI to increase student engagement (and reduce plagiarism)

• Improving productivity to develop instructional content

• Integrating AI into assessment

Please do not forget that we have one more session left on generative AI in the Fall 2023 semester! Although it is sold out, we will make recordings and other materials available on the Teaching Matters webpage. Our next session, "Bias, Accuracy and Ethical Issues of AI," is scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, November 17, 2023, at 11:00 am. These and other events to support effective pedagogy are also available on the CUNY Innovative Teaching Academy website. We hope to see you soon.
