Activities

CAEDD is engaged in diverse, interdisciplinary applied research and product, process or systems design and development. Design and development activities, including computer software development, range from concept design to production planning as well as simulation and analysis in all facets of engineering and computer technology.

As a major activity designed to fulfill its goals, the Center creates, with support from appropriate governmental agencies, a university/industry partnership program to tackle the design, development and manufacturing implementation of new technologies. The partnership program includes an industrial affiliates membership program, where industrial firms have access to the facilities of The School of Engineering.

In addition to working on industrially sponsored projects, the Center offers seminars and short courses for technology transfer, public information, and career development and training.
