COURSE OUTCOME

1. Understanding of round-off and truncation errors 
2. Knowledge of approximations of functions (polynomial and piecewise polynomial interpolation and approximation) 
3. Knowledge of numerical differentiation and integration 
4. Knowledge of algorithms for solving linear systems (Gaussian elimination, sparse systems) 
5. Ability to use graphic and computational tools in an advanced computational environment such as matlab
