B.S. Early Childhood Education

Birth-Grade 2, Initial Certification

Welcome!

The B.S. in Early Childhood Education Program aims to be attentive to the needs and perspectives of those from diverse socio-cultural backgrounds. To the program, diversity is a resource that faculty can use to build on the varied strengths of all learners. Our emphasis is on how diversity-related issues can effectively support student learning and have a positive impact on schools, especially in urban settings.

As a part of the School of Education, we recommend our graduate students for New York State Initial Teacher Certification in Early Childhood (Birth-Grade 2). What's more, the program holds an accreditation by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).
