Karen Navarro was born in Colombia and moved to New York City with her family at age 8. After enrolling in CCNY, she discovered her passion for neuroscience and psychology. She is mostly interested in the relationship between the brain and behavior, especially in individuals with psychological disorders. She hopes to pursue a Ph.D. in psychology with a neurological focus. She spends time tutoring for psychology statistics and calculus in affiliation with City Tutors. She also assists in Professor Jón Grétar Sigurjónsson's laboratory at CCNY. She is currently developing an undergraduate thesis involving sensory gating processes in the brain.
