Sachem Torres (they/them) is an undergraduate student from the Bronx, pursuing a double major in history and philosophy. Their interests combine historical events and sources with philosophical inquiry. They are narrowing their research towards gender and ethnic studies, LGBT+ history, and how these topics relate to metaphysics. Sachem is developing a project that will attempt to expand the timeline of various queer communities throughout the United States, inspired by the history of the ballroom community since the mid 1800’s. They plan to earn a PhD in history.
