Alumni dinner celebrates academic excellence

The Alumni Association of The City College of New York’s annual dinner at the Hilton hotel is always a big night for both CCNY alumni and current students. In addition to Townsend Harris medals to select alumni for outstanding postgraduate achievement, the event celebrates academic excellence.

This year, 60 students are recipients of Alumni Association scholarships for their academic achievements. The scholarships range from $1000-$5000 and can cover up to one year of the awardee’s tuition.

A highlight of the 2016 alumni dinner was the presentation of the 69th John H. Finley Award to Rosanna Scotto and Greg Kelly, co-anchors of Fox 5’s “Good Day New York.” The award   recognizes exemplary dedicated service to the City of New York and the nation, while enhancing the quality of life of its people.
