German journalist and author Hannes Stein, writer Jeffrey Yoskowitz and musicians Sruli & Lisa are among the speakers and performers in the third annual Michael & Irene Ross Lecture & Special Events Series at The City College of New York. The events are held 12:30 p.m. Thursday in Room 5/202, North Academic Center. The series starts October 3 and runs through November 21; no event is scheduled for November 7.

October 24, Joshua Halberstam, "An Ex-Insider's View of Hasidism." Mr. Halberstam is the scion of the leading Hasidic dynasties, with unbroken generations of illustrious rabbis on both his father and mother's side dating to the 16th century.
October 31, Sruli & Lisa, "Klezmer Jazz!" Making their eighth appearance at City College, multi-instrumentalists and vocalists Sruli and Lisa perform Klezmer and Hasidic music.
November 14, Abby Kornfeld, "Why Does Art Matter?" Dr. Kornfeld, an assistant professor of art history and Jewish studies at CCNY, specializes in medieval art and architecture. Her work focuses on the intersections between Jewish, Christian, and Islamic art across the medieval Mediterranean.
November 21, The Hadar Noiberg Trio. CCNY alumna Hadar Noiberg has established herself as a major force in the Cuban, jazz, and world music scenes.
