Brazil is home to over 200 million residents and has emerged over the last decade as a major player in Latin America and the world for its economy. Rio de Janeiro, which is located on the southeast coast of Brazil, is a city blessed with spectacular geography and rich history. This CCNY faculty-led program will be taught by Dr. Jean Krasno and will examine Brazil's role as a pivotal state in the region in terms of trade, development, democratization, environmental concerns, and human and cultural rights. Students will also study English/Portuguese vocabulary on international and political issues.
