For approximately eleven years, he has served as Commissioner of Public Works for Columbia County and manages a union workforce of over 200 persons in design, operation and maintenance of municipal buildings, grounds and infrastructure. Prior to this position, Mr. Robinson served as a Senior Associate Managing Director with an engineering firm, Clough, Harbour & Associates for over 17 years.

As a Commissioner of Public Works, Mr. Robinson has overseen the preparation and management of millions of dollars of professional services contracts and public sector construction contracts inclusive of bridges, highways, airports, solid wastes and building projects. He has lead planning and construction of all capital projects including long and short term planning to maximize existing building spaces, programming and design for new buildings
