Food Service Vendor Employment Practices

The City College of new York’s food service provider is Centerplate. The CP food service contract began July 1st 2017. Upon review of Centerplate’s Human Resource policies, and procedure manuals the following founding’s have been recorded.

i.          Prevailing wage: Centerplate is currently in compliance with NY State minimum wage of $13 per hour. Please see attachment for supporting documentation.

            Currently CP has six-teen (16) full-time associates, and twenty-one (21) part-time associates

ii.         Federal, State, Local Health, Safety, and Employee benefits: CP current Health Benefit Plans are only offered to full-time associates (hourly & salaried Exempt). These benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, and various Voluntary options. Please see attachment for supporting documentation.

            CP’s vacation, sick 401k, etc…are only offered to full-time associates (hourly & salaried exempt)

            Please see attachment for supporting documentation. Sick time associates earn .5 days a month to a maximum of six (6) days.

            Bonus Structure: Currently only the General Manager is eligible to receive a “Bonus Opportunity”, based on annual bonus plan. Please see attachment for supporting documentation.

            Harassment Free Workplace: CP encourages an “Open-Door Policy” that welcomes communication from all associates. However, if an associate wishes to report matters otherwise, CP has “Network Hotline” in place for this purpose, whereas a “Caller” may choose to remain anonymous. Please see attachment for supporting documentation.

iii.        Inspection of books & records: Yes CP’s has and will allow the AEC to view all records, and policy manuals.
