Data Science and Engineering at CCNY applies core programming and statistics concepts to other disciplines. Students of the DSE program will have the ability to harness techniques in analysis, computation, modeling, and visualization to solve problems with data. The DSE faculty takes students through an industry-aligned curriculum by integrating core concepts with industry-relevant applications in artificial intelligence, machine learning, software development, and data architecture that span across different industries and academic fields.

The program is for those who seek employment in the tech industry at high-impact roles. The DSE program is open to accepting students from non-STEM backgrounds based on academic and professional competency and interest. Students will have the opportunities to tailor their own domain track on top of the core concepts by choosing their electives, collaborate with others in different disciplines on practical projects through the CCNY GSOE and CUNY communities; Finally students take part in a capstone project or thesis along with mentor guidance to showcase mastery in leveraging real-world data towards innovation or solving problems.

  • Applicants are accepted for the Fall semester only.
  • We cannot accept non-degree students.
  • Unofficial transcripts are allowed to be submitted into the application.

The core DSE faculty review applications in batches. Applications are evaluated in two rounds.
