Early Childhood Education

Our programs are designed to provide you with in-depth knowledge of child development, childhood learning, and teaching skills for young children ages birth through eight. They lead to New York State certification in Early Childhood Education, a requirement that must be met by anyone working as a head teacher in any early childhood setting, including those intending to work in grades preK-2 in public elementary schools. Please explore this website to find out more about the program. Please contact Beverly Falk, the Program Director, for any assistance you may need.

The Graduate Programs in Early Childhood Education are nationally recognized by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) as part of The School of Education's national accreditation by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).

Applications for Fall 2015 are due on April 1st, 2015.
