Azmain Nisak, a Bangladeshi-American, was born and raised in Brooklyn. From a young age, he was fascinated by the wonders and mysteries of the universe and developed a strong interest in and aptitude for science and mathematics. Upon completing his B.S. degree in physics, he hopes to pursue a Ph.D. in astrophysics in preparation for a career in research and teaching at the university level or within an observatory. Outside of classes, he currently conducts photonics research in Professor Swapan Gayen's laboratory at the City College Center for Discovery and Innovation, studying the spectroscopic properties of materials.
