Ellianna Schwab is a non-traditional undergraduate student in the Physics Department at CCNY. After working for the better part of a decade as a graphic designer, Ellianna moved to New York City to attend college for the first time. She is the first of her siblings to pursue a bachelor's degree and the first student in the history of her ultra-orthodox Jewish high school to pursue a degree in the physical sciences. Curious about most anything physics, Ellianna has combined her two passions, astronomy and magnetism, in her undergraduate research on magnetic fields in low-mass stars at the American Museum of Natural History. She plans to pursue a doctorate in astronomy and astrophysics, where she will use the cosmos around us as a giant laboratory for testing the most extreme physics.
