Omer Alfalahi was born in Yemen and is currently pursuing a B.A./M.A. in History. His main research interest centers on the Empire of Japan and its colonization of Taiwan, a topic that has piqued his interest due to the fascinating intricacies in the relationships between capitalism, state-building and colonization in East Asia. His research provides insight into the dynamics involved with the rising political and economic power of China in the East in our contemporary world. Omer aspires to obtain a PhD in History for a career in academia, attaining the education his family had never been privileged to receive in Yemen.
