City College remembers 9/11

Today, City College of New York faculty staff and students joined millions of Americans and people around the world in somber remembrance of the 9/11 attacks.On campus, members of the City College community gathered in the Quad to honor those killed on that tragic day 14 years ago. The solemn event was presented by the ROTC program at CCNY and the City College Veterans Association.In lower Manhattan, near the site of the first attack at the World Trade Center, almost one hundred CCNY students joined their colleagues from seven other CUNY schools at a ceremony at the Borough of Manhattan

CCNY celebrates Latino Heritage Month

Culture events, discussions on issues facing Latino communities and a poetry festival highlight The City College of New York’s Latino Heritage Month activities, Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, this year. The City College of New York has maintained its standing as one of the nation’s most ethnically diverse institutions. High school senior reflects on the Architecture Summer Career Lab

Manuel Francisco Cifuentes entered his senior year at The Calhoun High School in September. ROTC at CCNY develops tomorrow’s leaders

The Reserve Officers Training Corps program at the City College of New York continues to grow, providing access and leadership training to 150 students from 17 City University of New York campuses. The program's director, Professor Rishi S. Raj, has set an ambitious goal of doubling the current enrollment to 300 by 2016. Four CCNY undergraduates awarded Eisenhower fellowships

Four undergraduates in The City College of New York’s Grove School of Engineering have been awarded 2015 Dwight David Eisenhower Transportation Fellowships by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). George John awarded Fulbright-Nehru Excellence Fellowship

Dr. George John, professor of chemistry at The City College of New York, has received a 2015-2016 Fulbright-Nehru Academic and Professional Excellence Fellowship. He will spend four months in India teaching and conducting research on a project titled “Introducing Materials Science to Managers through Biomimicry” at the LM Thapar School of Management, in Dera Bassi.John is developing a course on biomimetic materials for business managers and leaders. CCNY first in research for second straight year, says Washington Monthly

For the second year in row, The City College of New York has been ranked #1 in research expenditures among master’s universities by the Washington Monthly’s 2015 College Guide. The amount that City College spent on research rose from $55.11 million in 2014 to $57.92 million in 2015, an increase of more than five percent. New programs added to CCNY curriculum for 2015-16

The new academic year also heralds the debut of a number of new programs at The City College of New York, ranging from a new concentration in architecture to a master’s degree that will take health solutions from concept to practical solutions.
