This morning we had a series of events, starting with a manhole explosion across from the NAC. This caused a transformer to pop inside the NAC and a fire to breakout in the ConEd/Verizon switch room, on the first floor.
What we know at this time:
- The phone system is down.
- Power to the NAC is out.
- Power to Harris is out.
We have switched email over to the data center on south campus Email should continue to work as it normally does. If you need to reach a department or division, please use email, as the phone system is not working. I recommend that if you are coming to campus to visit the NAC or Harris that you stay home and work remotely.
At this time we do not know the full extent of the damage or how long it will take to repair. I will continue to update our communications team and they will provide updates on the website.
