This fully online, asynchronous 32-credit program includes 24 credits of required coursework in Instructional Design and an 8-credit capstone/thesis project. The program prepares students to become instructional designers capable of creating, implementing, and evaluating effective learning experiences. Graduates will develop expertise in educational theory, evidence-based decision making, innovative technologies, assessment, research methodology, problem solving, and professional communication.
To demonstrate mastery of these skills, all students complete a capstone course in which they develop an Instructional Design portfolio. This culminating project allows students to showcase their competencies to prospective employers.
The curriculum and delivery format are designed to meet the needs of students pursuing careers as instructional designers in educational settings or as trainers in corporate or nonprofit environments. While the program emphasizes practical preparation for immediate entry into the workforce, it also provides a strong foundation for those interested in pursuing doctoral studies.
