Bilingual Childhood Education

Bilingual teachers teach all content subjects (math, science, social studies, etc.) in English and/or another language. The program in Bilingual Childhood Education leads to a Bachelor of Science in Education and a recommendation for New York State initial certification as a teacher of grades 1-6 (approx ages 6-12), as well as a Bilingual Extension. If you are bilingual in English and either Spanish, Haitian Creole, or Chinese, and are interested in teaching in elementary school (grades 1-6), a major in Bilingual Childhood Education may be for you.
