VIRTUAL CAMPUS TOUR
Monday, April 19
3:00 PM
Get a look inside the teaching and research laboratories of Marshak Science Building and our newest addition, the cutting-edge Center for Discovery and Innovation, a worldwide magnet for researchers in several interdisciplinary science fields. And we’ll swing by other campus highlights, including your favorite haunts, on this student-led tour.

WHAT I WISH I KNEW: RECENT SCIENCE GRADS TAI-DANAE BRADLEY AND IVAN SANTIAGO
Tuesday, April 20
12:30 PM
Join a conversation with Dr. Tai-Danae Bradley, currently a mathematics postdoc at “X” (formerly Google X), and Dr. Ivan Santiago, currently a postdoc studying the brain at Columbia University. Bradley and Santiago will share stories from their past lives as curious CCNY undergraduates, as well as from their present lives at some of the country’s top research centers.

ALUMNI HAPPY HOUR AND TRIVIA
Wednesday, April 21
5:00 PM
Connect with fellow City College Science alums from all graduating classes in this happy hour hosted by Dean Susan Perkins. Low-pressure trivia questions about the latest science news stories promise to break down the barriers brought on by both physical and temporal distance!

DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI, MATHEMATICS
Thursday, April 22
12:30 PM
The Department of Mathematics honors Drs. Robert Aumann ('50), Herman Chernoff ('43) and Martin Davis ('48) with Distinguished Alumni Awards in an event that will bring together three great mathematical minds. Dr. Aumann was awarded the 2005 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences, Dr. Chernoff held faculty positions in mathematics at Stanford, MIT, and Harvard, and the American Mathematical Society calls Dr. Davis “one of the world’s outstanding logicians.” Professor Ethan Akin will moderate this very special event.

DOCUMENTARY FILM: FROZEN OBSESSION
Thursday, April 22
5:00 PM
In celebration of Earth Day join us for a special sneak-peek screening of “Frozen Obsession.” This new film, set to air on PBS later this year, documents the 18-day expedition of the scientific research vessel Oden through the Canadian Arctic in 2019. Professor Maria Tzortziou and three CCNY undergrads will host a post-film discussion about the research they conducted on board and how the experience changed their lives.

PLANETARIUM SHOW
Friday, April 23
12:30 PM
Come take a quick trip with the CCNY Planetarium. We’ll launch our virtual jet packs and fly around the Hamilton Heights campus, and then strap on some larger rockets and tour the solar system and beyond. Along the way, you’ll see new and intriguing data visualizations that the sci-viz studio at the Planetarium has been working on over the last year. Bring a snack!
