2026 Division of Science Graduation Ceremony

The Division of Science invites graduating students, along with their families and friends, to celebrate this important milestone. This event recognizes the achievements of our graduates and provides an opportunity to celebrate with faculty, staff, and fellow students.

Time: 10:30am - 1:00pm 

Doors open at 9:00am

Information for Graduates

Graduates of September, January, and February are automatically invited to the Spring Commencement ceremony.

To all June applicants for graduation, attending the Graduation Celebration does not automatically mean that you have graduated from CCNY.

You must satisfy all of your degree requirements.
All graduates will be notified to their CCNY email address regarding degree conferral/diploma availability.

For students in the class of 2026, the honors policy is as follows:

A degree summa cum laude is granted to students whose average in all subjects is at least 3.8.

A degree magna cum laude is granted to students whose average in all subjects is at least 3.5.

A degree cum laude is granted to students whose average in all subjects is at least 3.2.

Only coursework completed at City College is taken into account in the computation of graduation honors. Second degree students are not eligible for graduation honors.

CAPS AND GOWNS IS A MUST!

Undergraduate students at the Division of Science do not wear hoods. Caps and gowns must be worn to participate in the graduation ceremony.

Academic robes should be worn closed at all times during the ceremony.

Your cap should be centered on your head with the mortarboard flat (not tilted). Hairpins are recommended to keep it secure.

For undergraduate students, the tassel should be worn on the right side before the degree is conferred. During the ceremony, tassels will be moved from the right to the left.

TICKETS FOR GRADUATES ARE REQUIRED 

Tickets are required for all graduates attending the Division of Science Graduation Ceremony. 

Graduates must present a valid ticket (digital or printed) for entry. 

All graduates must wear their cap and gown to participate in the ceremony.

Graduate entry and seating will begin at 10:30am.

TICKETS FOR GUEST ARE REQUIRED 

Tickets are required for all  guests attending the Division of Science Graduation Ceremony. 

Each guest must have their own ticket. Infants and toddlers (age 2 and under) who will sit on an adult’s lap do not require a ticket.

Guests must present a valid ticket (digital or printed) for entry. Please ensure all guests have their tickets ready for scanning upon arrival. 

Guest entry and seating will begin at 9:00am.
