The Color Congress is an ecosystem-builder that supports 120+ People of Color-led and serving documentary organizations across the United States and US islands. The group embarked on a year-long experiment, Elev8Docs, as a bold learning initiative that led marketing research to strengthen distribution pathways for independent nonfiction films directed by filmmakers of color. The Congress initiative conducted 8 distinct marketing experiments that supported 27 documentary films throughout 2025. From digital only experiements to multi-city simultaneous openings to film restorations, these series of actions revealed a great deal about how filmmakers of color should consider approaching the world with their films.

Hear from the founders and co-directors of the Color Congress, Sonya Childress and Sahar Driver, and from one of the main marketing groups that worked with them, Chana Ewing of littlebigworld and bring your questions!
