Two Films:
Toda la Verdad: When a young Dominican-American woman uncovers African ancestry through a DNA test, her search for answers about a relative's hidden past forces a reckoning with long-held family beliefs about race, class, and identity.
Diaspora Power:Montreal-based documentary filmmaker Joseph Hillel's film examines the wave of Haitian immigration to Quebec in the 1960s and 1970s, drawing on stories from Hillel’s own family, including his father, a psychiatrist, and his uncle, Montreal’s first Black police officer.
