City College 168th Commencement 9 am Friday, May 30

Actress Lillias White, ’78, retail executive Millard Drexler and transportation official Henry Perahia, ’71BME,  ’73MME, to receive honorary degrees

The City College of New York's 168th Commencement Exercises take place 9 a.m., Friday, May 30, on the City College campus at135th Street at Convent Avenue, Manhattan. 

The College will confer honorary degrees at commencement on:

Actress Lillias White, a 1978 City College graduate and award-winning performer, who will receive the honorary degree doctor of fine arts;

Retail executive Millard Drexler, chairman and CEO of J.Crew Group, Inc., who previously headed Gap, Inc., and created Old Navy and Gap Kids. He will receive the honorary degree doctor of humane letters;

Henry Perahia, '71BME, '73MME, recently retired deputy commissioner of the New York City Department of Transportation. He will be awarded the honorary degree doctor of science.
 
The Class of 2014 Valedictorian is Arielle Elmaleh-Sachs, who is graduating from the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education summa cum laude with a BS in biomedical science and a 3.96 GPA. 

City College President Lisa S. Coico will deliver the commencement message.
