Dear College Community,
I am pleased to welcome William Ruiz-Pla to the City College of New York as the new Deputy Director for Procurement. He steps into this role from the CUNY Central Office, where he served as a Purchasing Coordinator for the last three years. Prior to joining CUNY, William built 15 years of procurement expertise across the food, mining, and IT industries.
William earned his bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad del Norte in his native Barranquilla, Colombia. After moving to New York City 10 years ago, he became a proud CCNY alumnus, earning his MA in the Study of the Americas in 2019.
William is incredibly excited to return to CCNY, where he looks forward to supporting both faculty and staff. Outside of work, William is an avid reader who enjoys traveling, visiting museums, and reading books about art, world history and historical fiction.
William can be reached at wruizpla@ccny.cuny.edu .
Please join me in welcoming William in his new role at CCNY.
