Admitted Non-Degree Guide

Step 1

Check your e-mail: You will receive an e-mail once your non-degree application has been processed which will include your registration date.

Step 2

Claim Your CUNYfirst Account: CUNYfirst is our Student Information System, and how you will enroll in your courses. Our instructional guide makes this process easy, but should you need any assistance, please contact the CCNY Information Technology Service Desk.

Deadline – Immediately after receiving your acceptance e-mail.

Step 3

Submit Your Immunization Records: Before you can register you must make sure you are meeting the immunization requirement.

Deadline – Before your registration date.

Step 4

Determine if You Have the Prerequisites for Your Desired Course: Some courses may have prerequisites that require departmental approval before you can enroll. To determine if your desired course requires a prerequisite, check the current undergraduate course bulletin or refer to the current course offerings list on your CUNYfirst account.

Step 5

Register for Your Course:

  • If your desired course does not have prerequisites - register online through your CUNYfirst account on your registration date. Your registration date can be found in the e-mail from the Office of Admissions.
  • If your desired course does have prerequisites - you must come in person on your registration date, with a copy of your previous transcript(s), to receive departmental approval. Your registration date and departmental locations can be found in the e-mail from the Office of Admissions.

The Office of the Registrar sets the registration dates for all new and continuing students.

Step 6

Review Your Student AccountOnce you have registered for classes, you will need to check your CUNYfirst account to view any outstanding balance. 

Deadline – Due date will be listed on your CUNYfirst account 

Step 7

Attend Class: Check the academic calendar for important dates.
